Barrow-in-Furness
Type of opportunity:
Placement
Closing date:
Open/ongoing

Our Engineers within the Radiation Physics & Shielding team are responsible for the design and testing of the radiation shields that protect the team.

What you will be doing:

You will have responsibilities for providing input into the full product lifecycle such as concept, design, build, testing and in-service trials and you will be expected to contribute in all stages. Your role will be diverse and will include the use of radiation transport codes, the competent production of safety documentation, use of test equipment and the production of computer models using the latest design tools.

Our programmes require us to push our capabilities and technologies to the limit of what is achievable today. As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

What we have on offer for you!

Take your first steps in a career that challenges, rewards and evolves. At BAE Systems you’ll be working on exciting, world-leading engineering and business projects from day one.  Our placements will prepare you with the skills you need to navigate challenges that bring others to a standstill. We are passionate, collaborative, and take pride in work that helps our customers and communities. Working for BAE Systems, you’ll go home at the end of each day knowing what you do really makes a difference.
