Type of opportunity:
The Naval Ships Combat System Team designs, procures, integrates, delivers and supports Combat systems across a range of Royal Navy and export warships. These include the RN’s Type 45 and Mine Countermeasures in-service platforms, the in-build Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier, and the in-design Type 26. These are major, challenging and complex engineering projects requiring a range of engineering skills. This requires coordinated and concurrent team working to demanding timescales. We work across several sites to assemble the expertise that we need, when we need it for each project. There are opportunities at Frimley to sample a range of projects at different points in the engineering lifecycle. Project placements will be guided by project needs and our view of candidate suitability.
As a member of the Combat Systems Team you will be allocated into a project and tasked as an engineering within the team. Your work will be expected to make real contribution to addressing the engineering issues on a programme and will be likely to encompass requirements analysis and problem solving, engineering deliverable presentation. Engineering data analysis, meeting and briefing notes, report writing, presentation preparation, cost, schedule and risk analysis.
