What do you want the power to do? Join us at Bank of America, and we’ll help you make an impact. From career opportunities to support and encouragement together we’ll make it happen.

What you’ll do

Exceptional client service is high-tech and high-touch. Technology is transforming financial services and changing the way clients and banks interact.

From low latency programming to big data challenges, our technology teams keep us at the forefront of global financial markets. They didn’t all join us as typical tech people, so there’s no need for you to be. You can be of any age, background or gender, and you don’t need financial sector experience.

Our people design, develop and implement applications, systems and operational processes for clients and colleagues around the world. Whether it’s programming or data management, innovation or information security, the latest tools and resources help us keep our market-leading position.

Whichever team you join, your fresh thinking will be key. Fast turnaround and delivery means it’s always challenging, but there are few rewards like seeing a solution move from concept to implementation.

Summer internships

As an intern, your work affects the real world. Why shouldn’t it? We’ll take your ideas seriously and you’ll get to network with other people as you do hands-on work. At the end of your placement, you could even have a chance to fast track onto the graduate programme with so many opportunities to learn and progress.

Join us for 10 weeks during your penultimate year at university, and you’ll get a taste of what a full-time role would be like. You’ll have structured performance evaluations, real training, development, and social and volunteering opportunities just as our permanent people do. So there’s no need to doubt you have the right skills.

In some locations, we offer fixed-term placements such as off-cycle internships or industrial placements at other times throughout the year. You’ll find these posted on our careers site.

Analyst programme

Picture your first role after university. You want training and recognition. While you might think that banking is all pin-striped suits and keeping yourself to yourself, nothing could be further from the truth. From employee networks and sport & social clubs, to wellness initiatives and supporting local communities, we’re all about people and responsible growth.

That’s not all you can look forward to. You’ll have formal, ongoing training and development opportunities, performance evaluations, mentoring and networking opportunities. It’s a holistic approach to the start of your career, and one which will continue.

How to apply and what to expect

For an analyst position, the application process involves uploading your CV and completing an online video interview. If selected following the application stage, you will be invited to an assessment centre involving competency-based exercises. In addition, for most of our full-time programs, we conduct telephone interviews.

If you’re looking to join us full-time, there may be an initial telephone interview.

Here are the deadlines you need to keep in mind.

  • Full-time Technology: 22 October 2019
  • Summer Internships: 8 November 2019

About us

We have 66 million customers ranging from individuals to businesses to governments. We’ve also been building meaningful connections in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for decades. In fact, you’ll find our 200,000-strong workforce all over the world.

The reason we’re here is to make financial lives better. That doesn’t happen in isolation. We drive sustainable growth to help create jobs, transform the communities we all live and work in, and foster economic mobility.

But success isn’t just about figures. We give placement students and interns real experience, and some of them can even fast-track onto our graduate programmes. As for graduates, our diversity networks, induction, extensive training and even the chance to give back via volunteering days mean you can do well in whatever area you choose, even if you don’t have experience. Which might be why we’re at the top of the graduate tables.

Every moment matters, and what’s important to you is important to us. None of us is typical. We always ask ‘what would you like the power to do?’ and work together to achieve it.
