We’re advancing the future of energy.
Where could it take you?
Today’s growing world demands more energy – but in new ways with fewer emissions. To meet this challenge, we’re evolving every part of our operations, all while welcoming new, diverse talent to keep pushing our ideas forward. It’s only by bringing together the brightest people in one, world-class team, that we’ll succeed. And when joining one of our trading graduate programmes, you’ll have a part to play too.
Supply and trading graduate programmes at BP
The supply and trading business is the commercial face of our organisation – it’s where we buy and sell energy, and transport resources to customers. Success here relies on astute insight from analytics experts, spot-on strategy and market tracking from commercial teams and decisive, informed action taken by traders. It’s more than a complex, fast-paced and demanding place to work. It’s a place where talent, teamwork and a supportive environment come together to make it an exceptional area in which to build your career.
Within our trading division, we offer opportunities in many teams including Commercial IST, Finance and Risk, Analytics and Trading itself. And whichever area of our trading business you join, you’ll broaden your horizons and expand your knowledge on a journey that will see you work with inspirational people and develop with comprehensive training. By the end of your rotational programme, you’ll be amazed by how far you’ve come. And as exhilarating as all this may seem, it will just be the start of your BP experience.
Join us to keep advancing
Our diverse and inclusive environment focuses on teamwork, respect and ambition, as much as on personal achievements. From day one, you’ll be offered a real chance to build a challenging, varied career and to contribute at any stage of the energy life cycle.
Wherever your talents and aspirations lie, we expect a high level of academic achievement (at least a 2:1). But every bit as important will be the individual attributes and personal qualities you bring to our team. Our whole approach is built on working together, being consistent and having the courage to do the right thing. All of which is underpinned by a commitment to safety and excellence in what we do. It’s essential that you share those values.
As with many graduate employers, we have a rigorous assessment process in place. This will include various online tests plus a scenario based interview and assessment centre and you will need to be successful at every stage for your application to progress.
Duties and responsibilities
The precise nature of your role will be determined by your skills as well as the needs of the business, but your duties and responsibilities could include:
Analysis of commodity markets through employing models of supply and demand, physical storage, weather, shipping and power generation, coupled with real-time data feeds, to provide actionable commercial insights to the front-line trading teams.
Constructively challenging trading activity and positions on a near real-time basis within supply and trading to ensure it is compliant and aligned to intended trading strategy.
Manage the logistical operations of a trading deal.
There’s more to our work and a career with BP than you could possibly imagine. So, the next thing to do is get online and experience it for yourself. Closing date 29th November 2019.
Please note that vacancies will be filled on an on-going basis after opening and we may close applications before the stated deadline. So, we highly recommend you submit your application as early as possible to be considered for the opportunity of your choice.
