What the programme involves
Immerse yourself in the world of Centrica by joining the Business Management Graduate programme. Supported by a network of senior leaders from across the business, you will be pushed out of your comfort zone and will be problem-solving from day one. On the programme you’ll have the opportunity to work across the UK, and across a range of our brands and business units, driving changes, guiding teams and delivering for our customers and our people. You will develop a broad set of skills and experiences from analysis, to strategy, to people management and large-scale delivery. Throughout your time on the programme you will enjoy the support of a team of dedicated Graduate Talent Managers, and from a close-knit community of current and former Graduates.
You’ll start your Graduate journey with nine months in one of our customer contact centres. You will begin the placement by experiencing what it takes to be on our frontline supporting our millions of energy and services customers. You will then get the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader by managing a team of your own in this contact centre; giving yourself the perfect platform to kick start the rest of your career at Centrica.
You will get the opportunity over your next two 9-month placements to take control of your career direction by selecting placements that align with your specific development aspirations. These next two placements could see you work within any of our brands and business functions. You could gain valuable experience working in Operations, in Transformational Change Delivery, and even across HR, Procurement, and Health, Safety and Environment. Whichever direction you choose, you’ll be delivering significant changes and driving business results.
Along with experiencing a wide range of different roles in these next two placements, you’ll also get the opportunity to be at the forefront of Centrica’s drive to transform the energy sector and rollout net-zero carbon and sustainable solutions for our customers.
What you will need
We believe management and leadership skills can be developed, if you have the drive for it. You must have a passion for collaboration, a continuous improvement mindset, customer focus, and above all a genuine desire to lead; we’ll help you learn the rest. To make the most of all the opportunities on offer, you will need to relocate multiple times across the UK and try new things. A minimum 2:1 degree is essential (2:2 if combined with a Master’s). Our Graduates have studied a wide range of degree disciplines at various universities which all add equal value to our business, from Law to Politics, History, Music, Psychology and more.
You will also need:
- Willingness to relocate multiple times and try new things
- Right to work in the UK
Please note: we may have to bring the deadline for applying for this programme forward due to its popularity, so we encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
