Global Power Solutions Division (GPSD) deliver operational excellence in manufacturing Diesel and Gas Driven Generating Sets and Equipment. As part of GPSD, the Larne based Large Electric Power Team (LEP) includes supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, environmental health and safety, and operations managers who align to deliver exceptional safety, quality, velocity and cost to our business partners.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer to join our Large Electric Power team based in Larne. Based in our manufacturing engineering team, working with others across our organization, you would be directly involved and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects driving continuous improvement, efficiency gains and cost reduction.

What experiences can you offer me?

The manufacturing engineering team are responsible for supporting production employees to execute the manufacture, assembly, test and paint processes within the Larne manufacturing facility, to deliver a world-class product to our customers. This role utilises the Caterpillar Production System (Lean Manufacturing) Principles to deliver People, Quality, Velocity and Cost (PQVC) improvements and results.

Based within the manufacturing engineering team, you will be working on real projects alongside experienced manufacturing engineers and gaining first-hand experience of:

  • Lean Manufacturing principles,
  • Supporting efficiency improvement initiatives at the facility
  • Updating production standard work documentation.
  • Communicate with other departments, both internal and external to the business.

Qualifications:

For the role, you should be on track or have achieved a 2:2 in one of the following degrees (Other relevant engineering degree may be considered):

  • Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering
  • Computer Science & Electronics Engineering
  • Control Systems Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Engineering Science
  • Integrated Engineering
