We’re changing up the future

We’re on a mission to build the UK’s finest digital infrastructure and unleash Britain’s potential. We’re connecting communities, boosting businesses and giving everyone access to superfast broadband. We’re also changing up the industry - we might be growing fast but we still behave like a start-up, with an open and inclusive environment where people can be themselves, speak up and make time for what matters.

A rewarding career

We’re passionate about our work and we’re passionate about our people too - with a starting salary of £26,195, you'll receive incremental increases over a set period, providing you are achieving your objectives. You’ll also enjoy benefits like 25 days’ holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.

The support to succeed

When you join the CityFibre family, you’ll get all the support and opportunity you need to grow your career, learn new skills and fulfil your potential. You’ll receive a personalised development plan tailored to your role and ambitions, that will help you expand your knowledge and reach your goals. Your Line Manager will help you understand how CityFibre operates as a whole, and you’ll be assigned a Mentor who will also support your progression. And if you’re interested in exploring Management-level opportunities, you can join our highly successful Aspiring Managers Programme and fast track your career.

How can you change it up?

Joining our busy GIS Team, you’ll be given responsibility from day one to start working on your own City projects, taking responsibility for translating our fibre network infrastructure designs into a GIS environment, allowing us to build a network which is fit for purpose and future proof. When you join us, you’ll work closely with your team to refine your skills, broaden your knowledge and kickstart a successful, long-lasting career that grows with our business.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

Preparing the design pack for the construction phase of a project
Designing networks in a GIS environment
General administration of the GIS system data and maintaining the asset data in a centralised system
Ensuring GIS and asset documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
Helping to deal with ad hoc GIS requests from both internal and external teams

What will you bring to the role?

You’ll have a degree in either GIS, Geography or something with an Environmental focus, and ideally some working experience in a GIS role.

Working knowledge of one (or more) of these software packages is also important: GE Smallworld, PNI, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS or FME.

With your enthusiasm, attitude and interpersonal skills, you’ll soon feel like part of the team, where you’ll receive the support, guidance and training you need to thrive and excel at CityFibre.

Our unique culture

We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity, we believe everyone has a voice and we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Even though we come from different backgrounds and do different jobs, we’re united by The CityFibre Way - our unique code of behaviours that inspires how we think, act and work. We back each other, think smart and act fast, and we’re passionate about giving it our best to build a legacy together.
