Graduate scheme

Greater London

This is a new graduate programme for Green & Fortune, created to give the candidate a solid 12 months experience in our multi-faceted, award-winning events and hospitality business. The candidate will work across all of our sites covering event sales and operations, with the aim of finishing in a full time position within our business.

The programme will start at Kings Place, where we manage the full sales and delivery process. For the first five months the employee will be based between the events sales team and events operations team. With the sales team they will learn about the sales process from the first point of contact through to conversion and hand over to the event management team. They will learn how best to support our clients in planning their event whilst ensuring commercial success for the business.

The candidate will support the events team in delivering the sales and marketing plan, planning client events, and creating an innovative offer in conjunction with the chef and operational team. They will need to be proficient in our CRM system, engage with clients, produce all paperwork relating to the events, and ensure the operations team are fully briefed for delivery.

Working with the Senior Events Operations Manager, and as part of the events operations team, the candidate will learn about the operational side of events. This will include rota planning, ordering equipment, event logistics, staff management, ensuring events are profitable and the various forms of event delivery.

The next five months will be based between Sea Containers and Rose Court, with the time split between sales and operations. These venues operate differently to Kings Place, their clients and types of events hosted is different too meaning that the candidate will be able to apply their new skills and experience in a familiar way but new setting.

The programme will end with two months at Central Hall Westminster working with the General Manager. Green & Fortune operate differently here as our client/the venue manage the sales process entirely and we provide the catering. These final two months will provide a chance to learn more about the relationships we have with venue clients, delivering large scale events, supporting with menu planning and managing a catering P&L, as well as dealing with the day-today questions our client’s sales team may have.

The candidate will be facing situations that will be challenging, fast paced and will require them to be hands-on, flexible, and capable of dealing with high pressure situations – regardless of whichever department they are based in. The sales roles are predominantly office based however the candidate may have the opportunity to attend industry events and networking opportunities outside the regular Monday to Friday working hours, both evenings and weekends. Operations roles are based on business requirements although working days tend to be biased towards weekdays, and more daytimes at Kings Place and evenings at Sea Containers and Rose Court.

At the end of the 12 month programme you will have the opportunity to present any thoughts or findings from your time at Green & Fortune to a panel that includes our CEO, COO, Director of Operations and Business Development Director. We will be interested in hearing an overview of your time with the company and any recommendations you may have to help us improve the business.
