What is Business Consulting at EY?
The world of business is constantly changing. For our clients, this can create better ways of doing things but it might also involve more risks. In Business Consulting, we focus on imaging, designing, leading and delivering end-to-end transformations for our clients.
Our job is to help clients take action and build stronger businesses in the process. That means being on top of regulations, technology and commercial changes in order to best serve our clients and help them make informed decisions. You’ll get to know our products inside and out while building a career that’s focused on challenge and reward.
What will you be doing?
You’ll be working on real client projects, learning about their businesses and processes and developing your people and relationship building skills. Over the course of the year you’ll also pick up these tasks with greater confidence:
- Working with a variety of clients from startups to recognisable financial services organisations
- Listening to client problems and defining strategies and solutions
- Developing proposals for EY or our clients
- Analysing trends in industries like banking, insurance or telecommunications, media and technology
- You’ll also be expected to be flexible and spend large proportions of your time away from your office
If everything works out well, you could even secure a job here after you graduate. And beyond official achievements, you’ll gain a huge sense of belonging within your team. This is where everyone thrives, together.
If you’re in your penultimate year at university and your course includes a placement year, this internship is for you. We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject – some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area – have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels/ Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.
“The innovation and disruption solutions that we’re working to develop are at the forefront of many industries nowadays.” Lauren, Consulting Industrial placement
