This award-winning scheme is a two year placement and development programme that aims to fast-track talented people into Manager roles and produce the senior leisure managers of the future. Many of our current Directors, General and Assistant Managers came through the Trainee Manager Scheme.
Leisure managers operate within complex business environments and are responsible for leisure centre operations, leadership, customer experience, technical, programming, marketing and financial management. The Trainee Manager scheme helps you to prepare for these challenges.
This demanding two-year training scheme for graduates includes practical work experience in all aspects of leisure provision. You’ll complete customer-facing placements such as Fitness Instructor, Lifeguard and Customer Service Advisor within a structured programme in year one and supervisory placements in year two. In addition, you’ll complete statutory, management and in-house training throughout the two years, helping you gain industry-standard qualifications. You’ll also experience working within a central support team and gain experience in project management and human resources.
You’ll be guaranteed a permanent management position up to Assistant Manager level on completion of the scheme.
You’ll need a degree or equivalent qualification (a sports, leisure or business-related qualification is an advantage) and be:
- Committed to a career in leisure management
- Willing to travel within the UK
- A competent swimmer
- Capable of embracing this fast-track scheme.
- Salary increase in Year 2 of the scheme and up to Assistant Manager salary in year 3
