We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated graduate to take their first step into the exciting world of public relations within the UK’s market-leading legal sector communications consultancy, based in London.

About The Company

Our client is a fast-growing and entrepreneurial PR consultancy providing reputation counsel across the legal sector to major law firms, legal sector advisory businesses, legal tech providers, and industry bodies. The team advises on Corporate Communications, Crisis PR, and Litigation PR, working with some of the biggest names in the legal sector on issues that impact business, society, the economy, law, and legal services. You will help clients promote and protect their businesses, market perception, and value.

The company is seeking a tenacious graduate with a keen interest in the legal sector who wants to build a successful career in PR. You will work with and learn from talented and dynamic professionals in professional services communications, joining a tight-knit, supportive, and collegiate team that thrives on helping each other succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write press releases, news stories, articles, case studies, and product pieces.
  • Pitch press releases and feature ideas by phone and email to national, regional, and trade journalists across print, broadcast, and online channels.
  • Handle stories involving challenging subject matters.
  • Develop journalist contacts across key trade, national, and broadcast media for clients.
  • Maintain regular client interaction as a key day-to-day liaison, including developing editorial themes with lawyers.
  • Build relationships with clients’ Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Arrange interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists.
  • Monitor media coverage and report results to the wider team and clients.
  • Deliver analytic reports on social media, including traffic, engagement, and follower figures.
  • Provide a reliable point of contact for clients and a trusted source of information.
  • Support the Senior Management Team with research for new business opportunities, pitches, and marketing initiatives.
  • Immerse yourself in the team and contribute fresh ideas for PR campaigns.

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and spoken English with strong spelling, grammar, proofreading, and a creative flair for engaging copy.
  • Social media savvy and an understanding of the role social media plays in reputation management.
  • Strong presentation skills—able to communicate ideas clearly to teams and present stories to journalists in a succinct, compelling manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; approachable, friendly, and empathetic, with the ability to relate to colleagues, clients, and media contacts.
  • Excellent telephone manner with the confidence to pitch stories to journalists in a positive, friendly, and upbeat tone.
  • Strong time management—able to work quickly and efficiently to tight media deadlines without compromising quality.

Qualifications And Experience

We are seeking a graduate with a degree in one of the following (or a related discipline): PR, Law, Languages, Journalism, History, Social Studies, Politics, Economics, or English Literature.

Relevant work experience or an internship in a PR agency, press office, law firm, or fast-paced media environment is a distinct advantage.
