Overview

With every community, Stantec redefines what’s possible. We are looking for a Graduate Ecologist to be based in Newcastle, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme. Our success in securing major water company frameworks has driven exciting growth within our ecology team, and we’re seeking passionate graduates to help deliver innovative environmental solutions across the water industry.

The Role

Your daily work will be dynamic and varied, spanning both fieldwork and office-based tasks. You can expect to:

  • Conduct a range of ecological surveys, including habitat classification, protected species assessments, and surveys across terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
  • Work on-site and in the office to support project delivery across the water industry.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, such as ecological appraisals, ecological impact assessments (EcIA), and detailed protected species survey reports.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Ecology, Geography, or Environmental Sciences.

Working Pattern

To ensure you receive strong support and development from your team, we ask our graduates to attend the office 4 days per week.
