Successful scholars will receive £28,000 tax-free funding plus early career payments and a package of exclusive support from the Institute of Physics

Scholarships are available to graduates with at least a 2.1 degree in physics or a related subject such as engineering or mathematics. They will be awarded to the very best individuals who impress us with their academic record, physics subject knowledge and commitment to teaching.
To be an IOP Scholar, you must secure a place on a non-salaried teacher training course in England by September 2020.
Being a physics teacher not only means that you’ll be able to use your degree every day, but you will also have the flexibility to work in your preferred location.
Before applying for a scholarship, please read our eligibility criteria thoroughly. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can proceed to complete the online application form.
If your online application is successful you will be invited to attend an assessment day in London. At the assessment day you will sit a written test to assess your subject knowledge, and take part in a group discussion and panel interview to assess your communication skills.
We will notify you shortly after the assessment day of the outcome of your assessment.
