Obtaining a training contract at Kennedys, will be the start of an exciting and successful career in a global law firm.  At Kennedys, you will gain early responsibility and client contact developing you into an excellent solicitor, capable of running your own caseload once qualified.

Throughout your two year training contract, you will be supported by senior solicitors and partners to develop you into a competent, confident and commercially driven lawyer. You will be able to choose from a variety of seats in specialist areas and you may also have the opportunity to go on a client secondment.

We offer training contracts in our London, Manchester and Taunton offices and London/Bermuda office. Applications for our 2022 training contracts are now open.

Training & Development:

The purpose of the training contract is to give our trainees a mix of experience and skills that will set them up in their legal career as a lawyer with Kennedys. We ensure that trainee solicitors are given sound training in the core disciplines. All supervisors are approachable and ready to offer support when needed. Our training contracts are two years in length and you will undertake four six-month seats.

You will be supported by senior solicitors and partners to help you become a competent, confident and commercially-driven lawyer. You will be given the opportunity to attend in-house and external seminars, whilst having access to a large array of online skills and technical learning via our internal Learning Management System. Kennedys’ trainees are given early responsibility and will be a valued member of the team from day one. All trainees are assigned to sit with a partner or senior lawyer during each of their seats. The supervisor is responsible for allocation and overseeing of daily tasks, mentoring and coaching throughout the seat.

Requirements:

  • To be considered for a training contract in the UK, you will need:
  • To have completed or be on course to complete the LPC by September 2022
  • To have achieved or be on course to achieve a 2:1 degree – not necessarily in Law
  • 120 UCAS Points or equivalent at A-Level (please note General Studies will not be included)
