Our Summer Internship Programme is a two-to- six month programme, aimed at those hoping to gain practical experience in the industry. As a project-based internship, our Summer Internships are an experiential learning programme which gives you the opportunity to make an impact during your time with us.

Throughout your Summer Internship, you will take part in formal bitesize development sessions and will be assigned a dedicated mentor to support you and your progress.

The programme includes:

  • Impactful, experiential learning
  • Networking opportunities with senior managers and peers
  • One-to-one support from line managers, mentors, and industry professionals
  • Insight into our Graduate Development Programme

As a Land Intern, you will get exposure to the Land and Planning team covering North London, East Herts, Central Beds, South Cambridgeshire, Essex and East London based in the North Home Counties office in Welwyn Garden City. To be an effective member of the land team, you should be confident and enjoy dealing with people. You will work closely with all the other departments within the business to help provide information and assist in creating compelling cases as to why a site should be purchased.

You will learn the specific land requirements of Cala, how we structure our contracts for land purchase, gain a deep understanding of the Cala house types and understand the development cycle from identification all the way through to build & sales, through your interaction with the wider team. The Land team is always on the lookout for new sites and are often competing with other developers to meet the business’ requirement for land.

About You

It is an exciting, dynamic and fast paced team and good social skills are paramount. You should working towards a degree in Business, Economics, Planning, Project Management, Real Estate or similar but this not essential, given the nature and scope of the land buying role.
