Our Legal Operations team brings together a network of business experts who work closely with our lawyers to provide high-quality, practical support for our clients.

This scheme is designed to identify and nurture talented people who can make an impact on our Legal Operations offering. We’ll look at your experience, goals and assessment centre performance before placing you in the area that suits you best. Successful candidates will be placed in one of four teams – Legal Project Management, K&L Data and Knowledge Technology, Innovation or Pricing. You’ll spend most of the scheme in your core area, learning the complex skills you’ll need to perform at a high level in this multi-disciplinary, global business. From running design workshops to developing data models to project managing and pricing legal matters, each Legal Operations team has different priorities and objectives. However, specialist expertise doesn’t mean a narrow world view. We’ll make sure you develop a strong understanding of - and network in - the other areas of Legal Operations. This will mean placement opportunities across this vital function, with the experience, knowledge and contacts this entails.

The scheme will start in August/September 2020 and in the final months of this two-year fixed term scheme, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role and be promoted to a Legal Operations Advisor. Applications close 31 March 2020, with assessment centres taking place in April 2020.

What is the mid/longer term outlook?

Recognised as a potential future leader, you’ll lead increasingly complex, innovative and high-profile workstreams and projects in your field of expertise. You’ll also be integrated into the Linklaters global learning programme and, depending on the team, be given the opportunity to gain professional qualifications. This scheme does not lead to a legal qualification.

What skills are we looking for?

  • Minimum of a 2:1 degree (or equivalent qualification) in any subject
  • A strong academic record
  • A wide-ranging set of interests and skills outside of your university studies
  • Strong interpersonal skills, commercial awareness, problem-solving skills, the ability to learn business and legal concepts efficiently and of course, be extremely motivated!
