Commodities and Global Markets
Our Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) group specialises in providing clients with access to markets, financing, financial hedging, research and market analysis, and physical execution across energy; metals, mining and agriculture; fixed income and currencies; credit; futures and equity markets.
The Energy Markets division are looking to hire a highly technical individual to provide support to the London trading desk. Our desk trades with producers, consumers, refiners, trade houses and institutional clients. The desk is focused on growing its customer franchise and delivering derivative solutions to clients.
As part of the Oil trading desk in London you will be required to:
- assist the members of the trading team in day to day procedures and operations (booking deals, checking data is input accurately, reconciling and running reports)
- price and execute deals for clients
- provide on-going pricing and execution support to the trading team
- Liaise with participants from the commodities markets
- Build and improve analytical models to improve desk’s trading capabilities
Our Commodity Financing team provides bespoke financing and other credit solutions for clients with commodity exposure. We are a market leader in the most sophisticated transactions including financing through trading arrangements such as monetisations, intermediations and structured prepayments, and we cover energy, metals and agricultural products through physical and financial trading.
As a graduate within the Commodity Financing team, you will be involved in the origination, structuring, and execution of financing transactions. You will support the full deal process from pitching transactions, structuring and pricing deals, as well as engaging with sales, trading and support areas of the broader Macquarie platform. Our complex, structured transactions require a multi-disciplinary skill set needing both qualitative and quantitative aptitudes.
Equities Derivatives & Trading
Our Equities Derivative & Trading division is a global securities business comprising of Volatility, Index Trading, Equity Finance, Structured Equity solutions and Global instruments. We enable client's access into markets, leverage and provide hedging solutions.
As a Graduate in ED&T, you will work in close proximity with the Equity Finance getting exposure to delta1 products, stock lending and repo activity across multiple assets classes. The business facilitates clients trading objectives, you will utilise your technical skills to assist traders in deal analytics, life cycle management and inventory management. Outperformance will involve “thinking on the feet” to solve problems and drive business efficiency.
ED&T provides first class training to new joiners taking a bottom up and hands on approach. You will get exposure to wide variety of derivative products, strategies and hand exposure to technical aspects of business operations.

Business Services Division
(BSD) is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation and ongoing management of Macquarie's workplaces, business resilience and sourcing & vendor management. Becoming member of the BSD team you will learn how a global investment invests in and manages its facilities to support business critical trading environments, whilst providing a world class working environment for its people. Investor Solutions Group
As a Graduate, you’ll contribute to the critical role our team plays in the MIRA value proposition, which involves developing new products, raising capital from investors, and managing relationships with MIRA’s existing client base. Together with the rest of the team, you will work with senior relationship managers and product specialists to support MIRA’s global fundraising efforts by building a strong understanding of MIRA’s platform and business model, as well as the track record and strategy of its managed funds and the underlying assets. You can expect to deliver investor reporting and updates, develop market analysis to deliver new clients to the business. You will benefit from broad exposure across infrastructure assets and sectors and also other alternatives, such as real estate, private credit and agriculture. As a result, you will be at the heart of the MIRA business.
Infrastructure Equity Investment Team
Your role as a Graduate in one of our Infrastructure Equity Investment teams will see you working on infrastructure assets across Europe, helping to manage and invest in companies that underpin communities, economies, and supply chains.
Relied on by over 100 million people around the world each day, our diverse portfolio includes investments in green infrastructure like wind farms and solar farms, road networks connecting communities, airports serving major cities, high-quality real estate and telecommunications infrastructure.
In addition to helping shape the future direction of these businesses, you will be given the opportunity to help ours – working on projects and research relating to existing and targeted assets and assisting with acquisitions through detailed valuation analysis and due diligence.
Private Credit Investment Team
As a Graduate you’ll work on key infrastructure assets, these assets are typically less risky and generate stable cash flow over long periods of time. Institutional Investors such as pension funds seek to match their long-dated liabilities by investing in infrastructure debt assets which generate long-dated stable returns. By joining the Private Credit Investment team, you’ll assist in originating, structuring and executing transactions by helping infrastructure asset owners issue debt products and use institutional investor funds to invest in these products.
Your role will see you get involved in all aspects of investment analysis including building and reviewing sensitivities on financial models, reviewing due diligence on potential investments and assessing the appropriate debt level and debt structure for the potential acquisition. You’ll also have responsibility for aspects of portfolio management as well as producing investment papers and client requests
The Risk Management Group is an independent and centralised unit responsible for identifying, assessing and monitoring risk across Macquarie and underpins all our market activity. We are looking for Graduates to join us in both of the divisions below.
Credit Risk & Market Risk
As a Graduate, you would be tasked with writing quality, insightful and detailed reports which assess the risk Macquarie faces across its business activities. You must be able to communicate this analysis to senior members of the risk team who will challenge your recommendation and ultimately accept the risk on behalf of Macquarie. You will develop with training and will gain a broad understanding of the various industries, markets, sectors and products that Macquarie is involved in and how we manage the associated risks.
