Business Change is broken in to 3 pillars:

Specialist project management and PMO support for major change initiatives – in our Front Office (Global Markets and Investment Banking) such as Regulatory Change, BREXIT related projects, new product launches or large-scale system implementations across the firm.  The team often work closely with our ISD (IT) colleagues on projects as the majority will have IT system implications.  The PM and PM Support team are responsible for the project management and smooth running of these initiatives

In Business Change, financial markets knowledge is helpful but not essential.  The degree discipline you have studied is irrelevant, as you will learn about our industry through being involved in the projects we work on.  However, time management skills, a strong deadline focus, the ability to juggle many tasks at once and creative problem solving are all a prerequisite.  In addition, as we work extremely collaboratively - both within Business Change and with colleagues from all around the business – team players are vital.

The second pillar focuses specifically on New Products being developed and introduced by our Global Markets team. 

This pillar provides the governance and risk advisory to the heads of the business when considering new product launches, gathering the rationale and necessary documentation to support the justification for a new product.  Once again, collaboration with other teams such as ISD (to build systems), Risk (to measure potential upside and downside), Middle and Back Office is critical when bringing a new product to the market.  The team will quickly work to understand any risk and reward associated with the product, how revenues will be made, who the bank will sell to and what regulatory restrictions and implications there might be.  Ultimately once the new product has been assessed and approved, it will move to the Project Management pillar for execution and launch.

The third pillar manages the financial progress of all projects ‘in flight’, ensuring that the correct budgets and governance are in place and reporting to senior management and stakeholders at key points during the lifecycle of the project.  This team report to the most Senior Management on the progress and financials of all major projects within the firm.  During large scale Change projects, accurate and timely financial reporting is key.

You will be in the penultimate year of your degree and be on course to achieve a min 2.1, however in addition we are looking for individuals who will learn and drive our business forward by bringing with them a winning spirit, the ability to inspire trust and provoke diversity of thought.

Interns joining this team may have an Accounting or Finance related background and an interest in analysing and monitoring financial data.
