Type of opportunity:
Graduate scheme
Application deadline:
15/11/2020

The goal of a sustainability department is to make the company more sustainable - that is, to help the company ensure its long-term future by protecting communities, restoring and conserving ecosystems, and creating competitive profit.

Mizuho’s Sustainability Department initiate projects around assessing the key priorities and risk factors in our business, understanding the regulatory framework around Sustainability and also look to educate and engage our staff (and stakeholders?) around Sustainability and Environmental initiatives.  Much of our work is in partnering with other departments and business units – such as Facilities Management and Procurement. Sustainability is not an isolated competency, like marketing or operations can sometimes be. Instead, it's a business and cultural mindset that we weave through all of our business activities.

To join our small team, you must have a passion for Sustainability and Environmental issues and preferably have demonstrated this via your chosen field of study – whether that be an Environmental Engineering/Sciences degree.  You need not have had experience working directly in this field but we would expect you to demonstrate a keen and well-researched interest in our area.
