Part 1 Architectural Assistant

This summer we are looking for a proactive and talented Part 1 qualified Architectural Assistant to join our Bristol Office, as our current fantastic Part 1 is returning to university to start their Part 2 studies.

We want to provide you with opportunities to use and develop your design and communication skills whilst working within a stimulating multidisciplinary environment. We work on a diverse range of projects and pride ourselves on our innovative yet responsive approach to our client’s brief, providing quality in outcome and approach every step of the way.

Job Description

As a Part 1 Architectural Assistant you will assist with various projects from initial design through to completion. Successful candidates will communicate visually using excellent graphic presentation and have a flair for design. You will often work as part of a team yet also be able to work on tasks alone.

Whilst Revit skills are desirable, we will provide training to successful candidates.

Architectural Design

  • Preparing design proposals using Revit and hand-drawn methods
  • Contributing to the design process and coordinating detailed design information
  • Contributing to specifications for construction work
  • Preparing drawings, plans, and documents for statutory approvals
  • Contributing to design stage risk assessments

Contract Management

Architectural Assistants participate in the process of managing an architectural project, for example by:

  • Making site visits
  • Obtaining tenders for construction work
  • Contributing to meetings and document preparation
  • Assisting with coordinating associated professionals as required
  • Assisting in obtaining and evaluating tenders and agreeing contracts
  • Maintaining an awareness of compliance requirements for the design, including legal, statutory, and professional obligations
