What the programme involves

You can look forward to a mix of on-the-job learning, training modules and project work, and as you develop, you’ll find the challenges will increase in complexity and responsibility.

Our engineering programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), so you know you’ll be on the right track to become registered as a Chartered Engineer should you choose to; this typically takes 4-5 years, and we will help you all the way.

Who we're looking for

Engineering graduates who have a strong interest in Process Engineering.

You’ll also need:

  • 1st or 2:1 Master’s degree in a suitable process/chemical (or closely related) engineering discipline, accredited by the relevant engineering institution
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to relocate multiple times and try new things
  • To be a passionate and creative Engineer who can deliver solutions within tight timeframes and implement them safely and successfully
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence, as you may be required to travel to remote locations

What you'll be doing

Graduates will be involved in the design, operation, monitoring and optimising performance on our assets. You will get first-hand experience in technical engineering, projects, and operations, and we will introduce you to real life process engineering and process safety. You will be working from day one as part of a team and we have high expectations of our Graduates.  There will be plenty of responsibility and it will take hard work and initiative on your part to succeed. In return you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and establish your engineering career within Centrica.
