Project Management Business Graduate

Programme Description

The Graduate Scheme will start with an Induction into Leonardo, as well as your placement area. You will be provided with a wealth of development opportunities in both virtual and applied working environments. On our programme, you will engage with challenging and exciting project work and deliver innovative business or technical solutions as part of a team of subject matter experts. Throughout the programme, you will receive coaching and support from your team to achieve your objectives as well as your personal development goals. We have partnered with Coursera and LinkedIn online training platforms that offer around 4,000 courses you can sign up for, according to your professional and personal interests. Typically, your placements will consist of 3-6 month rotations across Products & Programmes. This includes the opportunity to do a 3-month external placement elsewhere in the business. The graduate scheme will give you the opportunity to build on your technical knowledge and also develop soft skills through opportunities which a direct entry position may not be able to. In conjunction with the Products & Programme Management Team and the Early Careers Team, you will have the opportunity to input into the design of your training scheme to include placements that give an insight into the complete Product Life Cycle and business operation.

Key Responsibility Areas

The Project Management Business Graduate role can be incredibly varied. Workload has previously included (for both domestic & international markets):

• Supporting Project Management in the coordination of all other departments to ensure that a project/programme goes through all of its Life Cycle stages successfully, while managing the Schedule, Cost, Risk, and Quality of the project/programme.
• Developing the product roadmap for various Aircraft platforms, to continue the development of the Aircraft.
• Supporting project managers with consulting on bids and proposals for Aircraft future sales.
• Working on Aircraft programmes through its multiple phases, including the build and flight test phase, design definition, procurement phase, and delivery to the customer.
• Supporting aircraft deliveries and other contract deliverables.
• Providing Project Management Organisation (PMO) support.
• Supporting the Project Management team with stakeholder management, both internally and externally to our customers, suppliers, and many more.

There will be opportunities to visit customer facilities on a domestic and international basis. Working with world-leading specialists, you will increase your technical skills and capability, and develop your academic and practical understanding of the diverse world that is the aerospace industry. A role in project management will provide exposure to all elements of the Leonardo business life cycle, from contract bidding, through programme execution, training, delivery, and through-life support.

What We Need From You:

Minimum 2:2 Bachelors or Masters in Engineering Management, Economics, or a Business-related subject.

Desired Skills:

• Motivation and confidence to work in a dynamic programmes environment.
• Works well in a multi-disciplined, cross-functional team.
• Good communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office software suite including Project.
• Experience with SAP.
• Understanding of the Aerospace domestic and International marketplace.
