This Insight Week’s a great way to broaden your professional horizons and get a feel for what a career in Commercial Banking’s all about.
The programme runs over four days, starting in April and September 2020.
You’ll gain experience of the financial services industry through shadowing talented female colleagues in our commercial or corporate banking teams.
About the business area
In Commercial Banking our goal’s to build strong relationships to help our commercial customers prosper. We offer a range of services, including:
- Lending and Invoice Finance
- Debt Financing Solutions
- Transaction Services
- Digital Banking Solutions
Our clients range from large, UK corporates and FTSE 100 companies right through to entrepreneurial start ups – whatever our customer’s background, ambition and needs, we’re here to serve them well.
About the programme
Some of the things you can look forward to over the week are:
- Taking part in team and client meetings
- Gaining an insight into product development and innovations in digital banking
- Finding out about graduate and internship options and career paths in Commercial Banking
We created this programme to celebrate and promote female talent because we’re champions of equality.
Over four days, you’ll learn more about how we work, see some of the interesting work going on and have the opportunity to meet with female colleagues driving the best results for our business. You’ll explore our customers’ needs and what services we offer so you can see how we achieve great outcomes for everyone.
You’ll spend time with some of our current graduates, too. The experience is designed to give you the insight you’ll need to see if a career in this field’s right for you. You’ll see our day-to-day work and team culture, and you’ll delve into our client strategies and see how we manage our client relationships.
The Insight Week is unpaid, but we’ll cover accommodation and travel costs if you live more than 30 miles away from the office where the programme’s based.
There’s an assessment day at the end of the week which includes a group discussion, interview and case study. It’s so you can show us what you’ve learned and for you to reflect on your experiences. If you pass the assessment you could be offered a place on our Summer Internship programme in 2021.
The programme’s open to all undergraduates graduating in 2022.
To serve our customers well, we need intelligent, highly motivated and forward-thinking people with the curiosity to approach things from fresh perspectives, the ability to build credible relationships, and the determination to help shape the best solutions for our customers.
We’re looking out for people:
- Who are team players
- With a real customer focus
- Who have strong communication skills
- Who are entrepreneurial, think differently and are willing to challenge
- With high personal integrity
- Who are ambitious, and willing to learn and adapt
