Growing your potential

Whether we’re delivering power to millions, trading in new areas across the globe  or leading the rapid growth of offshore wind, RWE is at the forefront of the energy industry. But we wouldn’t be there without world-class IT.

Working in close partnership with leading technology companies, our IT functions drive efficiency and innovation across the whole of our business. This is your chance to be part of it.

Join our IT Graduate Programme and you’ll get to work alongside some of the brightest people in the field. You’ll have opportunities to work collaboratively, using new, agile techniques, and you’ll be making an impact in an area of our business that has grown significantly over the past two years.

Here’s the deal

You’ll do four six-month placements of your own choosing, rotating through a broad range of RWE companies, including the youngest part of our business, RWE Renewables. Along the way, you’ll gain experience and insights into various IT functions while at the same time learning how we manage the overall IT strategy, and develop, deliver and support all IT solutions across RWE.

The aim is for you to thrive and grow as an IT professional. So throughout the programme, you will have the chance to work on real projects that could impact many different areas of our business including:

  • Infrastructure Management
  • IT Security
  • IT Project Management
  • Application Development
  • Procurement Management
  • … and many more

Your potential

Are you passionate about IT, digital technologies and innovative solutions? Committed to building a career in the energy industry? Keen to learn, grow and take ownership and accountability? Then you could be just the kind of exceptional person we’re looking for. Some relevant work experience would be an advantage but is not essential. What you must have is:

  • Degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) to a high standard in any discipline
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Resilience
  • Hardworking attitude, whether operating independently or within a team
  • Excellent communication skills including fluent English or German (ideally both)

The opportunity

We’ll give you the chance to shape your own career path, and offer the support you need to make it a success. You’ll be assigned an ex-graduate buddy and a senior mentor of your choice who can advise you on rotations and introduce you to key people within the business. We also offer a wide range of development opportunities, including networking events where you’ll get to meet senior managers and board members.

You’ll enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package including:

  • Company pension
  • Financial assistance when moving from your base location
  • International rotations in the UK, Germany, and possibly further afield
  • Flexible benefits, including discounts at shops
  • On-site gym
  • Paid subscription to membership of relevant associations, Young Energy Professionals
