Seismic processing / interpretation summer internship: Geophysics / Geoscience / Physics
Are you a undergraduate studying a Geophysics or Geoscience related degree (or perhaps Maths or Physics if you have an interest in Geology)? Do you like the idea of working on seismic processing and interpretation projects where you can use your imagination? This opportunity could be ideal...
This global geoscience business provides project-unique, computing-intensive and high-resolution seismic data processing and analysis services, primarily for large oil companies and government bodies.
They are looking for two undergraduates to join their Surrey based team- accommodation can possibly be provided.
You will be learning seismic processing from a team with over 30 years of experience in the field, and will work on real projects in a dynamic team with bespoke solution.
You will be using state of the art computer equipment, with Petrel software - don’t worry if you have not used this as you can learn- but if you have some knowledge of it that would be ideal.
The services they offer relate to time processing, depth imaging, structural interpretation, seismic interpretation, reservoir characterisation and analysis and geo-consulting work.
The projects could be related to exploring geological structures or processing seismic data for example, and could be on areas including the Himalayas, Greek islands, west Africa or south America. It will look fantastic on your CV, and could possibly lead to a permanent job once you have graduated.
The business has the facility to arrange visa sponsorship, so applications from international students are also welcomed.
Sound good? Please apply asap-the internship is due to last between 8-12 weeks, so will need to start asap to fit in with most courses (for example if you return to studies in September).
