Our Future Leaders Programme will ignite the leader in you. This unique programme is designed to develop Unilever’s Future Leaders (UFLs) by providing challenging and purposeful opportunities that accelerate their readiness to take on business leadership roles.
The Unilever Future Leaders Program (UFLP) is a global initiative enabling Unilever to build a strong talent pipeline that will support and lead our business growth. In the UK, our UFLP is a 36-month rotational leadership development program for which we recruit top-performing undergraduate talent who demonstrate the potential to become managers within our business. It’s designed to grow you into a manager, through hands-on learning alongside world-class experts. You’ll be hired into a function and develop your leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. At the heart of it, it’s about developing tomorrow’s leaders, today.
From Day 1, you will take on real business challenges within your own function and across the organization. Along the way you will develop deep core professional skills and leadership skills, and build a robust support network. On top of all that, you will have a lot of fun along the journey.
We look for people who want to get to grips with the inner workings of a vast business and a desire to understand how it works. It’s about commitment, real people skills and a deep-seated interest in the business as a whole. You’ll become part of a leading-edge company, where you’ll work with outstanding brands and outstanding people to drive sustainable business growth.
Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of Food, Home and Personal Care products with sales in over 190 countries and reaching 2 billion consumers a day. The role: Technology Management – Data & Analytics
You’ll be joining Unilever’s Technology function, UniOps. UniOps touches every area of the business; providing critical internal services to keep the business running, alongside enabling Unilever to respond to external technological trends and obstacles, such as the digitisation of business & consumer buying habits, accelerating cyber threats and rapid developments in big data and artificial intelligence.
What will I be doing?
Throughout the programme, you will gain experience across our diverse technology organisation, designed to equip you with the necessary skills and expertise to become one of Unilever’s many senior technology leaders who started their careers as future leaders. You could be working with some of our strategic technology partners like Microsoft, Amazon and SAP, to deliver large scale global programmes, or with niche technology start-ups and industry innovators to solve current business and sustainability challenges.
What do we look for?
We look for motivated, self-starters with a passion for technology, business and the planet. You’ll possess strong people skills and be a proven team player. While there is no specific degree background required across any of our streams (many of our senior leaders didn’t start out in technology!), a keen interest in forward-thinking innovations and technology that enables business growth is a must.
What will the scheme involve?
This three-year leadership development scheme is packed with variety and challenges designed to prepare you for your first managerial position. The scheme is composed of three streams that allow you to specialise in Technology, Cyber Security or Data & Analytics. Whilst on the scheme you will complete six 6-month rotations. These will be split between your chosen specialisation, enabling you to build functional depth, alongside rotations across the other two streams to build breadth of knowledge. You may also complete an out of function rotation (e.g., in digital marketing or supply chain), enabling you to develop a more diverse set of skills and experiences outside of your chosen specialisation. Alongside your rotations you will follow an established learning roadmap designed to build your business acumen, develop commercial awareness and establish leadership potential. You will also get the opportunity to work across a variety of Unilever offices.
Please see further information on the Data & Analytics stream below:
In this specialized stream, you will delve into the fascinating world of Data & Analytics, collaborating on real business projects and building expertise in cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies. Unleashing the power of data, you'll play a pivotal role in strategic delivery, unlocking invaluable insights for our business. At Unilever, our commitment to data democratization empowers business users across the globe to make better data-motivated decisions. This pervasive shift facilitates informed decision-making across all aspects of our business, identifying granular growth opportunities and propelling us to outperform the market. Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding people out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs. These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
How is Unilever tackling this?
Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
What can I do?
If you become aware of potential recruitment fraud, spot fake Unilever recruitment adverts or fake LinkedIn profiles, report them via Una Live Chat.
Unilever does not accept responsibility or liability for any candidates who are financially impacted by recruitment fraud. Your vigilance is key!
