Location - Edinburgh (4 roles) Milton Keynes (1 role) (No relocation package is provided)

The Trainee Data Analyst (Newtyne Academy) role comprises one month’s initial technical training followed by a 12 month skills placement and begins on the 28th of February 2022.

Opportunities include:

  • Credit Risk MI Analyst - (1): Responsible for the creation of monthly a Collections & Recoveries MI deck, collating inputs from across the business and presenting results to stakeholders.
  • Commercial Analyst - (2): Responsible for identifying new opportunities to enhance products and/or customer journeys and ensuring they are successfully implemented and tracked.
  • Credit Risk Analyst - (2): Responsible for producing high quality, accurate and insightful MI and analysis to understand and explain significant trends and variances from within the credit risk portfolio.

The successful candidate(s) will receive training on the leading analytical programming Language of SAS, key business skills and other relevant technologies if appropriate to the role.

The roles also require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and good interpersonal skills, as you will be engaged with a wide variety of stakeholders.

An interest in working with and the ability to understand data related problems and analyse data to provide support in making informed business decisions is also key.

Salary

Competitive graduate entry level salary and benefits package offered. You will be salaried from Day 1 and are not required to contribute to the months training provided.

Person requirements

Applicants must have recent 1st class or 2.1 degree and/or MSc in a numerate degree such as mathematics, statistics or computer science or a similar degree discipline that demonstrates analytical and mathematical capabilities e.g. science or engineering. Other disciplines will be considered.

Other essential requirements are that you:

  • Are highly organised
  • Are self-motivated, requiring little supervision
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Possess initiative and drive
  • Have an ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Have a good command of the English Language with excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Have sound ICT skills with a good command of common software applications e.g. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The successful applicant by start of employment must have permission to work in the U.K.

Deadlines/Key dates:

The selection process includes an initial pre-interview chat and online Numeric and Critical Reasoning test and if successful it is followed by an assessment and interview – also conducted online.

Assessment/Interview days will be conducted online after the application close date on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd of February 2022.

Please ensure that you are available to start on the 28th February 2022 and are available for the month following for required training which will be delivered via our Digital Learning Platform.
