What you’ll be doing
The time that our customers spend away on our holidays is precious. That’s why we need to understand what our customers want as well as how the world is changing so we can design, develop and deliver dream holidays. Our Commercial team do just this, sustainably delivering growth and profitability through cleverly managing price, focusing on cost and controlling the availability of our products. From liaising with hotel buyers, to forecasting travel trends, developing holiday brochures, and pricing holidays – it’s all in a day’s work in this area at the heart of our business.
During your Commercial placement, you’ll spend 12 months in Product Planning with our Crystal Ski Holidays team in Surbiton, where you’ll be playing a key role in making sure we have the right products on offer to give our customers the widest variety of holidays to choose from.
Throughout your placement, you’ll be responsible for supporting the planning and product activity, helping to implement the product strategy for a set of resort destinations within the Crystal Ski Holidays portfolio. This includes ensuring we have the right mix of hotels, destinations and concepts on offer to match customer demand.
You’ll do this by playing an integral role in analysing the cost base of your Crystal Ski Holidays resorts and then setting the pricing/margin strategy accordingly to ensure your destinations meet both financial and strategic objectives. You’ll also support with reviews and bed briefings to define and drive the future shape and size of the destination. This includes performance analysis of units, resort and country to highlight opportunities and flag risks to support both tactical pricing activity, as well as longer term strategic planning.
You’ll also work with a wide range of teams across the business to help deliver both our web content and printed brochures, ensuring our products are promoted correctly and accurately across all of our distribution channels.
You’ll monitor and report on competitor activity and performance, as well as analysing and predicting market trends, and will be responsible for monitoring sales and quality to ensure you have the right product mix on offer for our customers both now and for future seasons.
You’ll also regularly interact with other business areas and will support our sales channels on customer queries and communicating this information to the Content team to ensure we’re providing our customers with the information they need.

What we’re looking for
Our placements are suitable for those who are on a sandwich degree course, looking for a 12-month placement to commence in August 2020, and due to graduate by September 2022, as you’ll complete the industrial placement in your penultimate year of university.
You’ll be on track for a 2:1 or above in any subject, and have a minimum of 120 UCAS points under the 2017 tariff system (extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
We're looking for agile-minded, innovative thinkers, who are keen to learn and take on new challenges. Those who have a flair for collaborating with others, a natural drive for results, and are able to think strategically about the business. Adaptable individuals with a talent for thinking analytically, and a focus on providing unrivalled service to our customers.
You’ll also have a passion for business development, as well an interest in the travel industry.
