United Utilities provides water and sewage services to seven million people across the North West of England. As part of the Electrical Engineering team you will really benefit from the shared knowledge and expertise of working with colleagues across all of the engineering disciplines.
- Within 12 to 24 months, you will be expected to have gained an understanding of the wide range of electrical technologies we use, ranging from High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV) through to control system (PLC/SCADA) applications.
- We also want you to develop an understanding of the interfaces with other engineering disciplines such as civil, hydraulic, process, mechanical and modelling. This is key to delivering robust, reliable and cost effective solutions that are safely and efficiently commissioned, operated and maintained.
- The team is responsible for the design and improvement of water and wastewater treatment facilities, delivering energy neutral designs and optimised solutions that features high on the business agenda.
- Able to support United Utilities operational staff in optimizing site production and lowering site expenditure.
- Within the team there are technical experts and specialists that cover all aspects of Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation who support our graduate's development.
- Projects vary in size from small scale improvements through to multi-million pound new build installations, our graduates are given placements to provide them with a broad spectrum of experience to meet the structured training requirements.
- Our Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the development of all United Utilities electrical designs ranging from high voltage distribution to control system applications; you will have the opportunity to apply best practice and lessons learned.
- The Electrical Engineering graduate programme is accredited by the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) that will lead to achieving a professional chartered engineer qualification (CEng) and, potentially, fulfil a future leadership role in the business.
- Graduates enrolled on the IET accredited scheme will have a dedicated mentor to help guide them throughout their training and development period. Don't worry, we give you plenty of support.

Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 2:1 Accredited Degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- Written and communication skills.
- Team working skills.
- Demonstrates ambition and drive.
- 2:1 Accredited Master's Degree in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment centre to be held on 6th December 2019
