Behind all of Virgin Media’s groundbreaking business strategies, there’s an analyst’s work – interpreting statistics of our performance or predicting future trends that give us the insight to make the best informed business decisions.
If you have a head for numbers and deciphering Big Data, then joining one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and fun-loving companies on our Analyst Graduate Scheme, will seriously raise the probability of you enjoying a successful career!
What’s it all about?
At Virgin Media, our ingenious analysis teams cover every aspect of the business – from marketing to engineering to customer service. They’re eagle-eyed at finding ways to improve our business performance and culture.
Join us, on our two-year graduate scheme, and you’ll get to work shoulder to shoulder with our experts as part of our Insight Hub. Made up of various reporting insight, planning and decisioning teams, the Insight Hub is a real centre of expertise for our business and is leading the transformation of Virgin Media into a learning organisation underpinned by data excellence.
Here, you’ll develop an understanding of all aspects of business operations, strategy and finance as you hone your commercial, analytical and financial skills. And, because data does it for you, we’ll let you loose on large, complex datasets – providing you with state-of-the-art tools and technologies to make sure we stay ahead of the competition and drive our business forward.
You will also gain exposure to a wide range of analytics disciplines. The scheme is all-encompassing and features challenging but exciting rotations across Customer Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Business Intelligence, Strategy and Planning, and even Data Science too!
“You don’t just feel like a number in the application process, you feel like Virgin Media really consider you as a person.” Emma, Analyst graduate
How are you going to get there?
Essentially, you should have the ability to interpret complex data in a way that’s understood by people from a range of backgrounds. Having outstanding communication, presentation and relationship building skills are equally important to us.
That and a 2:1 or above in a numerical-based degree (ideally maths, finance or economics – but we’ll consider anyone who has studied a discipline that’s involved working with large datasets).
You’ll also need to be flexible about location as the scheme may involve placements across the country, including Hammersmith, Reading, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.
So, what can we do for you?
Our end game is to transform you into a whizz at both statistical data analysis and commercial insight methodology. The rotations we’ve devised will provide you with broad experience across the business and rock-solid foundations to begin building a fantastic career.
Once you’ve successfully completed the scheme, you might progress into varied roles such as Insight Analyst, Big Data Guru, Commercial Manager or Business Strategist.
