What I love about law is that it’s everywhere. Your parents need lawyers, sports clubs need lawyers, Disney needs lawyers – even divorce lawyers need lawyers. It’s such a broad landscape, and I was looking for a job where I could think, write and analyse. Then I won the bronze award for the Young Future Lawyer of the Year, sponsored by Clifford Chance, and that was my introduction to the Firm. I met two graduate recruiters, who were so friendly and warm. They saw something in me, even at sixteen, and they put me in touch with more recruiters, more experts. People who taught me what hard work looks like, and how to be resilient. You’re never as confident or bold as you’d like to be at that age, but I never had to worry about that at Clifford Chance. Everybody made me feel welcome from the get-go. Right away, I knew that my thoughts and opinions had value.
