On my first day at Clifford Chance, a helicopter landed on the roof of the building opposite and I thought, ‘I don’t belong in this world.’ Thankfully, I wasn’t the only person in that room who felt like an imposter. And thankfully, the Firm goes above and beyond to support and nurture you. The partners and associates had confidence in me from the outset, which helped me find confidence in myself. They inspired me to be curious, to push myself every day. I was twelve when I joined the Army Cadets, and I remained there for six years. Let that be a lesson to anyone who thinks they need to have studied law to get into law.
