After obtaining my BSc in International Business from the University of Leeds, similar to many young professionals, I found myself under immense amount of pressure to settle on a specific career. As a result, Dixon Wilson stood out to me for its ability to offer a variety of opportunities across several disciplines including accounts, tax and audit. Their excellent training contract will allow me to obtain an internationally recognised ACA qualification whilst building experience with both corporate and private clients.

One of the main benefits of Dixon Wilson’s unique structure is that you get to work with colleagues at various levels of seniority, therefore opening channels for learning and growth. As a result, you are able to form close-knit relationships with your colleagues making it easier to pick up new skills and feel comfortable with taking on responsibility at a very early stage. Forming this sense of community can also aid your ACA studies since other trainees are always happy to offer you tips and tricks for the upcoming exams.

Dixon Wilson places an enormous emphasis on delivering high quality service to all of its clients. These clients range from art dealers to trusts, from charities to entrepreneurs, which makes the firm’s culture fast-paced and challenging. Whilst we work hard here, we also remember to maintain a work-life balance. Our social committee is dedicated to getting you involved in a range of social and charitable events. Within the first few months of me joining the firm, they had me out on a netball court during lunchtimes and singing high notes at the Christmas sing-off competition.

I am lucky to have started a career with an accountancy firm that offers me so much freedom and supports my personal development.
