In 2020, I joined the Financial Valuation and Advisory team as an intern before being converted to a full-time Analyst in Spring 2021.
Having completed a variety of internships at smaller boutique firms, I was worried that I may be lost in a larger organization such as Houlihan Lokey. Early into my internship however, I quickly came to realise that the firm truly encourages entrepreneurship and proactivity and that my contributions to the team were valued.
Additionally, there is a hugely supportive culture, centered around growth and development. As there is a steep learning curve and a high level of responsibility early on, being able to ask any and all questions in an open environment really is invaluable to anyone starting out in their career and this has been incredibly helpful for me. Given the difficulties posed by the pandemic, Houlihan Lokey has gone over and above to ensure that new staff members are provided with a multitude of resources, facilitating both personal and professional development, and ensuring that we always feel supported.
Finally, I think the absence of a traditional hierarchical structure and the opportunity to interact with colleagues at all levels and business lines across the firm adds to a highly collegiate, collaborative and inclusive culture, making Houlihan Lokey a fantastic place to work.
