I studied Chemical Engineering with Managment at the University of Edinburgh and joined Mace in 2019.
Mace manages Projects in a host of diverse Sectors. As a graduate who was unsure what Industry I wanted to work in, joining Mace was the perfect way to explore Project Management with a wide range of Clients.
Since joining the Emerging Talent Programme, the level of support received has been fantastic. Whether it be your Project Team, technical experts, HR or anyone within the many Mace Networks – everyone is approachable, professional and supportive. Mace has supported me through the APM PFQ and PMQ qualifications, as well as providing training to cover many aspects of working in the Built Environment. Mace is built on upskilling its people, so whether it’s a professional qualification, chartership applications or sector specific training, Mace is likely to support you through it.
Mace has provided high levels of training and experience, pushing for me to be promoted twice within 2 years. By presenting opportunities for more responsibility, more complex Projects and supporting my Chartership application, it is clear that Mace looks to progress the careers of its people.
My responsibilities include driving the delivery of large-scale Infrastructure Projects while working to complete them on time, within budget and to a high quality by managing risk, programmes and teams. A Mace Project Manager works to execute the contract and produce tangible benefits for the Client. The best part of my job is the level of responsibility you gain early on. Before you know it, you will be ready and able to manage entire work packages and Projects with your team. The worst part is dealing with difficult conversations. It is important to do what is right for the Project and making sure everyone is aligned to the same goal.
I am also involved in the Ethnic Diversity Inclusion Network, Pride at Mace, Consult Knowledge Sharing and Emerging Talent Community Team.
