"I joined National Highways Environment graduate scheme in 2020. Since joining the environment team, I have learnt a lot from environmental experts who are always happy to share their knowledge, advice and experience!

I have been able to support colleagues by providing technical advice on major schemes such as the A303, Stonehenge and the M60, Simister Island. There are also lots of opportunities to participate in a range of environmental research and development projects. During my time on the graduate scheme I had the opportunity to completed a 6-month placement with the Environment Agency to explore my personal interests in NetZero Carbon, the placement helped me to develop professionally.

On the scheme I am able to get the right balance of support and responsibility which helps me to develop professionally and personally. Support from my team has been amazing and there is a genuine passion from everyone to deliver better environmental outcomes."
