The MA in Business and Management in the Bath Business School provides you with a broad introduction to the fundamental principles of business and management in a rapidly changing, increasingly globalised world. Supported by practice-based interdisciplinary teaching and research, you will develop your business expertise alongside the practical and professional skills needed to effectively manage the challenging issues affecting organisations today.

You also have the option of taking the MA with a 'pathway' route, allowing you to focus on one of four specific areas including Accounting, Entrepreneurship, International Business and Marketing.

This MA programme is designed to prepare you for a wide range of occupations in general management across all industry sectors and the international environment. It delivers practical skills and techniques applicable to business and management careers in marketing, enterprise and business start-ups, accounting management, and international business. To further support our students' career development, we also have a number of professional recognitions and opportunities for further business and management sector accreditation.

Entry requirements

Applications from a variety of backgrounds are welcomed. Normally a good Honours degree in any academic discipline or a relevant professional qualification. Applicants who do not meet the academic entry standard, but who have relevant work experience, are considered on their individual merits. Previous experience and learning can be taken into consideration.

Course modules

Our courses are designed to offer you choice in tailoring your final degree content to match your academic interest and future career development. You will take a mix of 'core' and 'option' taught modules and complete a major dissertation/consultancy project.

Core modules include: management in practice; international business and management; dissertation/consultancy project.

Optional modules: marketing management; financial and management accounting; strategy and governance; managing people; marketing communications; entrepreneurship; financial management for international business.

Assessment methods

A variety of assessment methods are utilised, including: individual report; individual presentation; group project work; group presentation; examination. Assignments are designed to integrate theoretical concepts with practical application.
