Business and Management

The Faculty of Management has a vibrant and varied research community, comprising more than 50 doctoral researchers and numerous professors who are leaders in their fields. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) results, we were rated number one in the UK for our research into tourism, based on internationally recognised research, and BU is also home to the editorial teams who edit four of the leading scholarly journals within the tourism sector - Tourism Management, the International Journal of Tourism Research, Tourism Economics, and Tourism Management Perspectives.

Key subject areas that you can study as part of a PhD with the faculty of management include: tourism; hospitality; events and leisure; sport; retail ; accounting, finance and economics; marketing; leadership, strategy and organisations; business and management.
