Manchester Metropolitan University
LLM in Legal Practice (Full Award)
This course combines the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and further LLM elements of study, giving you the opportunity to gain the professional qualification needed to practice as a solicitor, whilst achieving advanced Masters level legal research skills.
The Legal Practice Course (LPC) element of this course follows the same path as our traditional LPC, and is designed to prepare you for life as a solicitor.
The LPC element of this course adheres to the academic requirements of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA). If you intend to practise as a solicitor in England and Wales you need to look at the SRA website www.sra.org.uk/home for the requirements to enter the profession. If you intend to practise in another jurisdiction you will need to find out the requirements to do so.
The LLM element of this course includes research methods study and an assessed research proposal leading to a supervised, assessed dissertation or research project of 15,000 words. You will be supervised by an experienced member of the teaching team. This provides you with the opportunity to gain specialist legal knowledge and advanced research skills, and to achieve a Masters qualification.
"The best reasons to study at Manchester Law School are the facilities, the amazing personal tutors, and the connections they have with local law firms."
