Advanced Materials Engineering
This course enables students to develop and further their knowledge with a range of core modules and select a materials engineering-led research project within 1 of the diverse range of research groups. Throughout the course students will study the functional roles of nanocomposites and inorganic solids, develop an understanding of the interplay between structure and observed properties, and explore investigation methods. Students also study biomimetic and supramolecular approaches in materials chemistry.
Modules include: physical properties of solid state and nano composite materials; inorganic chemistry beyond the molecule; research methods; research project.
Assessment methods include: written exam; oral presentation; assignment; poster presentation; research project.
