International Business Management

This MSc in International Business Management will enable you to develop a thorough knowledge of the key concepts of human resource management, finance, marketing, business strategy and supply chain management in the context of international business.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a residential course in a European City, as part of the option module International Consultancy in Action, involving visits to foreign national and multi-national companies in the service and manufacturing sectors.

This course prepares you for more challenging management and leadership roles, which is key to your achieving your future career ambitions.

With rapid and ongoing technological advancement has come both unprecedented opportunities and challenges; global trade has become increasingly accessible and important but has also intensified competition. In the face of this, it is vital to understand how to navigate these new and changing frontiers.

Your MSc International Business Management will enable you to gain a good understanding of key management fundamentals, from an international perspective, incorporating strategy, finance, and the management of people. In addition, you will learn how to improve your decision-making with research methods, in preparation for your dissertation project, which allows you to further explore and refine your knowledge of an international business-related topic in more depth.

Entry requirements

MSc: A UK 2.2 Honours degree (or equivalent) in any discipline.

Course modules

In your first semester, you'll explore areas such as leadership, financial reporting, the global digital environment and factors influencing economic growth.
In semester two, we'll challenge you to apply, analyse and evaluate a range of strategic tools, models and concepts. You'll also get to grips with international supply chain management, HR management in a global context and research methods.
In your final semester, you'll complete a dissertation. We'll assign you a supervisor who will support you as you critically review your chosen area of International Business Management.

Assessment methods

There are two types of assessments: practice (also called formative) or formal (also called summative).
Practice assessments do not count towards your final mark. These are your chance to test your understanding - and learn how to improve for the real thing.
You'll have formal assessments at the end of each module. These could include essays, exams, or portfolios.
