Web Development

This course forms a postgraduate qualification for you to focus specialist study on web development issues such as method and practical implementation aspects. In choosing this award you will have the chance to develop knowledge attained from your undergraduate study and expand this into a deeper level, learning new and emerging technologies. Apart from focusing on industry perspectives you will also develop a strong research perspective relevant to issues and areas of web development. There is an increasing need for new graduates with web development skills and knowledge appropriate for designing and developing applications for business and industry.

Entry requirements

A second class Honours degree or equivalent in a related computing discipline is required. Applicants who lack the academic qualification but have significant appropriate experience are considered on an individual basis. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based).

Modules include: Personal development and research methods; database design and development; media editing and multimedia applications; multimedia research; mobile web and multimedia; programming for web applications; dissertation; elective modules include: web multimedia; advanced multimedia systems and applications; computer graphics; object oriented software systems engineering; mobile applications and systems; network systems and technologies; interaction design; strategic planning and systems development; advanced computing investigation topics; and an optional placement.
