International Banking and Finance
This course is for those wanting to develop careers in financial management within the international banking sector. For those of you already working in finance or banking, the course will enhance your effectiveness by covering the latest developments in the field.
You'll develop the concepts and skills required by financial managers and financial analysts working in the international banking sector. You'll also gain an understanding of contemporary financial problems and issues facing international business and banks.
Semester 1: Principles of finance; accounting and financial analysis; quantitative methods for finance; international financial markets and banking.
Semester 2: Topics in corporate finance; financial management for banks; derivatives and treasury management; risk management for banks. Elective modules: Security analysis; portfolio theory and management; empirical methods in finance; management accounting; behavioural finance.
Semester 3: Empirical research projects.
Every class will either have a class test or assignment during Semester 1 and 2. The exams for all classes will take place at the end of the semester in January and June.
