The course is offered to Chinese students who are first language Mandarin speakers, interested in pursuing a career in applied language skills, including translating and teaching English or Chinese as a foreign language.
The typical entry requirement is a first degree in English language or Chinese language related studies, normally a lower second Class or above or equivalent. Overseas students are expected to possess an IELTS score of 6.0.
Modules include: Chinese language studies; classroom teaching practice (Chinese); Chinese-English translation theory and practice; technology enhanced language teaching and learning; principles of Chinese translation and interpreting; media and translation.
Tuition fees for years of study after your first year are subject to an increase of 3%.
