Mechanical Engineering

Engineering research at Bristol is organised into a number of faculty-level research groups. The majority of staff in the Department of Mechanical Engineering are members of one of the following research groups:

+ Dynamics and Control

+ Solid Mechanics

+ Engineering Systems and Design

+ Ultrasonics and Non-destructive Testing

+ Robotics

+ Fluid and Aerodynamics.

Applicants are advised to contact a potential academic adviser to discuss available projects before submitting an application.

Entry requirements

An upper second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

Sponsorship information

A number of funded studentships are available each year, supported by research council, industrial, University or other funds. Check the faculty website for a list of currently available funded projects or check www.jobs.ac.uk.

Self-funded or sponsored students are also very welcome to apply.

Fees quoted are provisional, per annum and subject to annual increase.
