Innovative Engineering Solutions

The course has been created to enable learners to apply problem solving and creative skills to produce inventive and novel solutions for a range of specialist situations in engineering companies. This course has been designed in collaboration with employers and professional institutions to produce graduates with specialist training in problem solving and the generation of creative and state of the art engineering solutions.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree (minimum 2.1) in an engineering or a related subject such as mathematics, product design, or architecture. Applicants will be required to undertake an assessment and interview process.

Course modules

Modules include: innovative solutions; applied research methods in engineering; engineering solutions professional practice; independent studies. Optional modules: architectural engineering; civil and infrastructure engineering; electronic engineering; intelligent energy systems; materials engineering; aerospace engineering; mathematical modelling; manufacturing and production engineering; motorsport engineering; mechanical engineering; supply chain improvement.

Assessment methods

A variety of assessments are used. They may involve individual and group activities including reports, presentations, portfolios, case studies and examinations.

Fees

You will gain 180 credits in total to complete the full MA or MSc. If you are studying part time you will normally complete your studies over two or three years, depending on the course structure.
