Information Technology

This programme prepares you to tackle work-based challenges, using IT practically and intelligently. You'll learn theoretical and practical skills of applying Information Technology using our dedicated computing laboratories and have the opportunity to apply your knowledge to the challenges faced by industry and be taught by IT experts from industry. On completion of this programme you will be able to analyse, synthesise and evaluate those human and technology factors that are required to successfully apply information technology in industry.

Entry requirements

Honours degree (2.2 or above); or equivalent qualifications / experience in a computing discipline. Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: research methods; business analytics with statistical analysis software; database development; information technology project management; object oriented analysis, design and implementation; web technologies; independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a range of methods, such as analytical essays, reports on lab based problems, assignments using case studies, multi-task practical portfolios and presentations.
