This programme enables you to master the latest technology and techniques associated with extracting valuable information from large data sets that may have a variety of mixed attributes.
You will reinforce your background with specialist knowledge on these new techniques and technologies and you will apply this to data sets from our internationally recognised research in cosmology, health informatics and cybersecurity.
On this course you can:

A second-class honours degree in a relevant subject, including Computer Sciences, Legal or Social Sciences, or equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications.
English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.
Alongside the key compulsory topics, you will also undertake a project. This will involve in-depth research where you will apply the skills and knowledge from the taught part of the course to a practical problem within the domain of one of our research areas (cosmology, healthcare, cybersecurity or networking). Alternatively, the problem may be supplied by local businesses or other external clients.

You will encounter a range of assessment styles depending on the content and nature of the unit topic. This can include written assignments and presentations, as well as group and individual lab-based assessments. However, the most significant assessment element is your project.
