Our Centre for Commercial Law and Financial Regulation is a forum for conducting research and disseminating knowledge on international commercial law. You will also benefit from our strong links with the Graduate Institute of Political and International Studies, Henley Business School, and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) Centre.

Students on the Global Law LLM programmes benefit from links with the Walker Institute, the School of Politics, Economics and International Relations, the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development, and with Global Law at Reading (GLAR). Based at the School of Law, GLAR is a research hub that offers networking, conference and work experience opportunities.

Alongside your core subjects, there will be career development and co-curricular opportunities and a series of guest lectures by practitioners.

We offer double master's programmes with a wide range of leading partner universities worldwide, including Peking University and Renmin University in China, ALBA in Greece, MGIMO in Russia, Hanyang University in South Korea, and CYCU and National Taipei University in Taiwan.

Entry requirements

LLM: You are normally required to have a good undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK). However, our participants come with a variety of relevant legal and non-legal experience and all applicants are considered on individual merit.

IELTS: 6.5 overall with no element less than 5.5 (or equivalent).

Course modules

Sample modules may include:

* Advanced issues in international commercial law

* International corporate finance and the law

* Legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions and takeovers

* Legal aspects of trade and the World Trade Organization (WTO)


These course fees cover the cost of your tuition. Some courses will require additional payments for field trips and extra resources. You will also need to budget for your accommodation and living costs.
