Project Management and Innovation

The programme aims to provide students with the comprehensive knowledge and understanding of key issues in managing technology and innovation; a thorough understanding of the role of projects in delivering innovation and change in products, processes and services; a set of practical skills for managing projects with a high uncertainty and innovation content and/or which have innovation and change as a main target.

Entry requirements

First or second class Honours degree, or equivalent, in any subject. There's no requirement for prior work experience.

Course modules

Semester 1 and 2: Professional management practice.
Semester 1: Commercial management in projects; technology and organisational change; leadership for change and innovation; managerial accounting.
Semester 2: Projects and programme management; business operations; project portfolio management.
Semester 3: Project methodology; business strategy; managing technology and innovation; consultancy in practice; elective; project.

Assessment methods

Research project.
